In this online discussion group, facilitated by Guiding Teacher Konin Cardenas, we will study and discuss "Living by Vow," the contemporary book by Shohaku Okumura Roshi on the meaning of eight pivotal Zen teachings. This is not a class, but a weekly discussion group over a period of four months, in which participants share in wide-ranging conversations about practice, and teachings such as the bodhisattva vows, the Heart Sutra, the Sandokai, and the meaning of taking refuge in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
Group discussions will take place online Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 5:45 pm Pacific US time, from June 6th to September 19th, with no meetings on July 4th or July 25th. Like all Ekan Zen Study Center offerings, this discussion group is offered by donation. Participants can join via video conference or phone call, using Zoom technology. To register, email konin [at] ekanzenstudycenter.org and indicate your interest.
Join the sangha of Ekan Zen Study Center for this lively conversation, and explore the Zen vows that support an awakening life.
